MISSOURI BASED TEAMS "CLOBBER" KANSAS BASED NCRA LATE MODELS IN BOARDER WAR
A month ago Ryan Gustin announced his intentions on taking a break from his modified racing to concentrate on his late model endeavor. Shout out to all...."It's Going Well." "The Reaper" banked his second straight $3,000 win in as many days here at 81 Speedway on Sunday night after taking the bank out of Dodge City following Saturday nights win.
Starting on the pole, Gustin quickly jumped out into the lead over fellow front row starter Brandon McCormick. Driving flawlessly on the bottom of the 3/8ths oval, Gustin quickly opened up a half stretch advantagbe early and as he began to approach lapped traffic for the first time on lap nine built a full stretch lead.
It was a popular win for the Iowa native as his car owners Ed and Cende Gressel are from Wichita, Ks.
Taking Gustin out of the equation due to a lack of affiliation to either sanctioning body, the MARS Dirt Late Model Series again "spanked" the NCRA boys on their home track by finishing 2-3-4-5-6 before NCRA regular Chris Kratzer stopped the onslaught with a 7th place finish. NCRA point leader Kyle Berck mustered a 10th place finish in the 30 lap main event.
